Do you want to know your Star Wars weather? Of course you do! I mean, who doesn’t, right?

Go here to get your Star Wars weather. You can thank us later.

I’m totally geeking out over this. I think I’ve put in a dozen cities so far. For the record, here in frosty Minnesota, it’s like Hoth. Big surprise.

Enjoy!

Star Wars geeks and Gilbert and Sullivan nerds unite! Why hasn’t someone thought of this before?

I’m serious. It’s like chocolate and peanut butter. They just go together. Todd (from Geek Girl’s Guide) gives it a big thumbs up.

Actually, I think the force might be following me around.

You know synchronicity? Well, maybe it’s that. All I know is the other day, my kids decided to make light sabers out of old wrapping paper tubes. Nerdy and resourceful!

Since then, in quick succession, I’ve encounter more than my fair share of light sabers.

First, Geek Girl Darcy sends me this picture. Obama-wan Kenobi, also known as President Obama, demonstrating his mad light saber skillz.

Then, this website comes to my attention: Animals with Lightsabers

You knew someone was going to go there.

Then this video pops up in one of my friend’s Facebook feeds:

I’m starting to think the universe is trying to tell me something. Although that something may only be that I’m in dire need of a Star Wars movie marathon.

If Todd (from The Geek Girl’s Guide to Cheerleading) could sing, and sing a cappella at that, this would be the result:

As if we don’t have enough to celebrate around here (OMG, Elizabeth Scott likes our book!1!), today is International Geek Pride Day! (Attn: Nerds and Dorks, feel free to join the party.) Geek Pride Day was established as a holiday in 2006. The date was chosen to commemorate the premier of the first Star Wars movie in 1977.

Geek Girl Darcy will be celebrating by:

Letting her Geek Flag fly:

Listening to a little music:

Arrah and the Ferns, Emo Phillips

KJ52 Revenge of the Nerds

(Sorry, unlike Charity, I’m a spaz at YouTubing — but they are SO worth a clicky.)

Sticking her nose inside a good book:

Dominating the Tetris world:

And generally having a great geeky time.

Geek Girl Charity will be in transit, spreading her geek love from the biways and highways of Illinois, then through the skies of Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Safe travels, C!

Did you know today is Star Wars day? How did we almost miss that? Todd (from The Geek Girl’s Guide to Cheerleading) would stop speaking to us if we didn’t do something to mark the occasion.

First, have a slice of virtual Star Wars cake over at Cake Wrecks. Mmm … cake, have it, you will! Consume it, you can!

Then, head on back for the entertainment: the awesomeness of Monty Python meets Star Wars:

May the 4th be with you!

There are light sabers available in all sizes and for all occasions:

Big Ones:

Little Ones:

Light sabers to keep you dry in the rain:

A light saber for your phone (Want! Want!):

You can even have your Force and eat it too:

So remember guys, like Yoda says: The size of the light saber it counts not. What you can do with saber yours, important much!

More on light sabers later this week. Today’s subject is (surprise!) cheerleaders. Brian has always been more impressed with Girls Gone Pom-Pom than I was, but that was before I saw this …

Star Wars + Cheerleaders = HOT!

Maybe your tastes run to the dark side …

Darth! Darth! He’s our Man! If he can’t kill you, nobody can! Goooo … Sith!

Ever since he read the description of himself on page 12 of The Geek Girl’s Guide to Cheerleading, Todd Emerson has been demanding equal time.

So, while Bethany and the rest of the gang are off on Spring Break, Todd and his best friend Brian will be maintaining the blog. Who is Todd Emerson? He’s president of the chess club, co-captain of the debate team, editor of the school paper and all-around boy genius.

In other words, a bossier boy never lived.

Ahem. I’m sure when the Geek Girls say “bossy” what they really mean is: Todd Emerson possesses an abundance of leadership skills at the highest level.

Now *rubbing hands together gleefully* on to the first order of business:

A big improvement, right?

Brian and I will be back later to start introducing you to the kinds of things you really want to read about but, right now, we have Clone Wars cued up on the BluRay and a Slim Jim and Red Bull are calling my name.
